Wiploc
About you (in real-life):
Name: Martin
Age: 46
Nationality: Danish
Tell us a bit about yourself: Married, two kids (one of each...both teenagers...). Enjoy LOTRO, sim racing, racing, golf and other nerdy stuff.
What is your previous LoTRO experience (including previous kinships)? Started playing upon release in 2007 and joined Rangers of Eriador about 11 years ago. Stopped playing due to RL 8-9 years ago - though been on and off for levelling and what not. Honestly, I dont want to know how many hours I've spent in there in total!
Why do you want to join The Elders? Looking for a kin as per your description. Getting older, and while interested in doing things right, I do appreciate a more laid back approach to things. My old (and still current kin) ran strong a decade ago, but as so many others it lost traction so here I am. Looking for structure and cohesion towards running instances etc.
What do you plan to do with your time (e.g. raiding, levelling, questing)? Pretty much everything. While I do enjoy the storylines, I have been past most of them on earlier toons. When levelling, my focus is speed - while still enjoying the game familiarity and feel in the different zones. With that said, I am primarily into endgame. Putting together, building and optimizing an alt. Though, having been away from the game for that long, I am very much back to the noob stage in terms of running in groups no matter the alt - which is kind of intriguing. Anyway, just like to emphasize that I am not hardcore. I do like to get to a point where I am on top of things, and harder content can be dealt with. But it has to be fun and with room for bad days and noob alts. Otherwise it is not worth it.
About your LOTRO character:
Name: Wiploc
Class: Champ
Level: 140
Trade skills: Weaponsmith
Alts : Cappy 140, Guard 129, LM 100, and the rest (with a selection of guilded vocations between them)
Cheers!

Re: Wiploc
Trust me, the majority of the kin is as far from hardcore as you can imagine. Many of us love grouping, doing instances and raids but that's because we also spend 50% of the time yakking and joking. We get there in the end - just a bit slower. We also have a few super-efficient kinnes (should you find yourself becoming more hardcore...). And plenty who wander the world happily, enjoying themselves, who've never seen a raid in their lives. In short, we are a mixed kin where every kind of player is welcome and no one is looked down on for being "too casual", "too hardcore" or whatever.
So I think we may well be right for you!
Look for "Elders" in the Social Panel and ping any one of them to get you an invite from an Officer online.
Standard blurb: You'll be a Recruit for 21 days while we get to know each other and during that time you can only have your main in the kin (it's easier to get to know someone before they devolve into hundreds of different alts. ) Once you're all settled, we do expect Members not to have characters in different kinships (we can't stalk you, so this is just on your honour!) There are a number of exceptions. It's absolutely fine to have your own personal kinship, as we know some people like to own kinhouses and so on. We're also ok with you having an alt in a kin for something we're not really able to provide - such as an RP or PvP kin - but please do talk to me or an Officer about it. You'll find us very understanding.

Nah, the first time he was on his out-of-kin alt.
But strangely, Jedy's chaos didn't manage to discourage him, and he came another time.
People are strange.
