Application - Millelirin

Postby millelirin » Thu Oct 01, 2015 8:43 pm

About you (in real-life):

Name: Sergio
Age: 49
Nationality: Italian
Tell us a bit about yourself: the first game I played on a computer was "The Hobbit" on the Sinclair ZX Spectrum back in the 1980s. Then I've been playing every kind of game: let me quote Zork III, Ultima V, Wolfenstein, Doom, Quake, Space Quest, Monkey Island. Back in 1992, with my first home internet connetion I played a text only MMORPG via telnet. I have two children, a job, and a social life (or at least, I like to think so), so I can play mostly in the evening after 21 or 22 pm (CET) and sometimes on weekends.

What is your previous LoTRO experience (including previous kinships)? I've been playing LoTRO since April 2014, mostly soloing. This summer I started to play in fellowships learning the most fun aspects of the game. Then I joined an italian Kinship "la compagnia dell'anello", but most of the players were too young and silly ;) so they where banned, others moved to other games or left the kinship. Now I'm very often the only one to be online. Soloing when in a kinship doesn't looks right to me.

Why do you want to join The Elders? 1. I'm an Elder, can't see myself in any other guild. :) 2. I've been playing with Rinowine, a member of yours, who told me that your kinship is awesome and suggested me to apply for your kinship.

What do you plan to do with your time (e.g. raiding, levelling, questing)? I'm 67, so I've to finish levelling up to level 100. But I love to play in group: fellowship questing, fellowship instances, epic battles, raids, skirimishes. At the moment I'm learning epic battles, with Rinowine's help, and I still have to fully understand skirmishes. When asked to join a fellowship I'm willing to do it, even if it's a lower level instance, since I like to help other people to enjoy the game.

About your LOTRO character:
Current server: Laurelin
Name: Millelirin
Class:Hunter
Level:67
Trade skills:Tailor, Prospector, Forester
Raiding : DPS when the raid is about my level
Alts :

Yep, you sound like a true Elder to me! :D

We're open for recruitment, so you're very welcome to join us. Ask Rino to point out an Officer so you can pick up an invite.

Welcome to The Elders. I reckon you're going to feel right at home. :)

Thank you for accepting my application!
I've just been invited to the kinship and I'm a recruit now :)

Aaaand I received a wonderful and warm welcome :)

I'm a true elder and I can bore anyone to death by talking about old computers and games for hours.
And repeat the same things the day after.

I'm looking forward to meet all of you online :)

Welcome, but just so you know, there is an escape tunnel which is manned on a daily basis.

Just look for Me, Steppa or Maps and we'll show you where the trap door is.

Also, Rana and Flinty used to be in the escape committee but they were corrupted and are now officers so best to avoid them if at all possible  .

Oh, and as for Cara, never go on a raid she's leading!
:hnt: Thrandier lvl 102 Historian - Thran has returned to semi-activement and is back making an arse of things as normal. Unfortunately still trying to track down his housing items after the bailiffs were called!

:chn: Rathrendi lvl 33 Weaponsmith - Still in Intensive care due to neglect.

Non-Active Non-Kin Alts

:grd: Gilphillad, Kin Leader, Song of the Dead
:min: Thrandian, Call of Orome addict
:cpt: Iyara - Deceased, Deleted, Dumped - (select as per your mood)
:rk: Ioristion, Searching for the arsehole who made him change his name.
:brg: ??, He's a burglar, why the hell would I tell you his name!! Muppets......

?? - Mystery Character - It could be me standing next to you  :s

Golden Rule

Make sure your signature is long enough to avoid pointless conversation

Pearls of wisdom

1. Nothing makes the day go faster than doing something no one has asked you to do.
2. Don't jab an Alpaca with a cattle prod - they're immune to electricity.
3. Don't give Dolgolleth access to a freebee box - he'll never leave.
4. Never let your dog off it's lead and expect it to willingly come back when you ask.
5. Always suggest home improvements to the wife in a way that makes her think it's her idea.
6. Never expect Steppa to help you when you're neck deep in Orcs in Moria.
7. Never trust a character you meet in LOTRO that doesn't have a Bio.
8. Never trust a character you meet in LOTRO whose name is only 4 letters long.
9. When you answer the phone and it one of your parents, hang up. They're only phoning to ask for something.
10. The more a Dwarf complains about Elves only confirms how much he actually loves them.
11. Never ask Dol for advice on which Alt to upgrade.
12. Don't save your last bullet, just ask politely for some more.
13. Just because an udder serves the same function as a breast doesn't mean it's a good idea to suck it.
14. Don't join the Elders if you like solitude.
15. Do join the Elders if you like to have someone close by just in case the battery on your mobility scooter runs out.
16. If the main pole on your rotary drier breaks, don't throw it away. Just stick a wooden brush handle inside it. It'll work just the same.
17. No matter how crap your weapon is, chances are it's still better than an imbued one.
18. Never accept the offer of promotion unless you actually applied for it in the first place.
19. When it's been a while since you last logged in, think about what your password is BEFORE you get to the stage being locked out.
20. Find out what a forum thread is about BEFORE you start to read it. You'll only ruin your day otherwise.
21. Rana always seems to have waaaaaaaaay too much time on his hands.
22. Women and cling film should NEVER be allowed in the same room at the same time.
23. Jimmy Osmond looks like a Masterchef should look.
24. If some fool puts a 9999 character limit on signatures, you are duty bound to create one that big!
25. Life is hard, grow a pair.
26. Never, EVER, tell a married woman your rubber finger has gone hard and the end has cracked due to overuse.
27. When your new Minister tells you his services last an hour and a bit, understand that "a bit" means about 50 minutes.

Thanks everybody for the most warm welcome I've ever received in my LoTRO career :)

But I think it's time to ask for access to the memerships area of the forum, in order to be able to catch up with what's going on in this funny community, since I almost quite don't understand half of the welcome messages you wrote to me :) :) :)

Time to go and swallow my daily pill. Read you later guys.

Hello Dolgolleth,

can you remember the names of the most famous ones at that time? I'm struggling to remember the name of the one I used to play but my memory doesn't work anymore like when I was young.
The only thing I can remember is that my PG name was Arthur, necromancer, that I had to sell everything before disconnecting, since the only thing that we could save was money in the guild bank, and that very often network lag was so awful that it took hours to get back to the guild to sell stuff and save money to be able to disconnect safely.

Not precise - never go when sh'e healing if you're a Dwarf Tank called Jedy. She broadcasts a lengthy recording about priorities each time she lets you die.

1- You're a Dwarf.
2 - You're a Tank.
3 - You're Jedy and Jedys need heals only as a last resort.
4 - I was just a fraction too late....
